Today I'm taking a break from my detoxing post's to bring you a special face mask recipe! This recipe was contributed by Michelle Pino spa manager at Skana an upscale spa located in NY at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. We are working together to bring you a few seasonal health and beauty recipes that you will hopefully enjoy and let us know what you think!
Ingredients and Their Benefits:
Yogurt (I used plain greek) - 4 Tablespoons
This is full of major nutrients such as zinc, lactic acid, calcium, and b-vitamins. All of these will hydrate and cleanse and tighten your skin while clearing acne and wrinkles.
Squash or Pumpkin (canned or cooked) - 2 cups
These have beta-carotene which is great for helping protect skin cells from oxidative damage, also it can help in the repair of inflamed skin
Olive Oil - 1/4 teaspoon
Honey - 1 teaspoon
This is good for moisture, substance, aroma, and aesthetics
Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Aroma and aesthetics. It is also fantastic for getting your blood circulating and bringing oxygen to your skin surface.
Nutmeg - a pinch
Aroma and aesthetics.
Mix all ingredients well. Spread over a clean face and let sit for 10 minutes. Wipe face clean and enjoy your beautiful smooth skin!
My sister joined me in this venture and we really enjoyed making the mask, taking pictures and relaxing together. While my daughter was a little apprehensive and worried as you can see!
Overall we enjoyed this mask, my skin felt refreshed and smooth. My skin felt slightly tight from the yogurt, but not dry or uncomfortable.
We would love to hear your thoughts on this face mask recipe and let us know if you tried it!
