I don't have anything really exciting to share with you today. It has been another crazy week that has gotten away from, especially with the holiday, but it time well spent with my family.
This mirror I got for $7 at the thrift store and after I bought the dresser (you can see the post on that makeover here) I thought that this mirror would match nicely. I used the same chalk paint that I used on the dresser Annie Sloan's Old White. I loved the way it turned out, but I was a little worried about the before color showing through the chalk paint since it was this crazy blue green color.
I kind of liked the before color, but not for our bedroom, for a teenage girl maybe, but not for an adult bedroom. I wanted more subtle, soothing colors. So, I sanded the mirror down as hard as I could to get as much of the turquoise color off hoping it wouldn't show through when I went to sand down the chalk paint. Well, that obviously didn't happen.
But, the color is so gentle that it totally works! It even kind of matches the green hue of the glass top on the dresser. And you really don't notice it unless you look closely. I love the way it turned out, so yet another success using the chalk paint! I have some coffee tables I want to tackle next with this awesome paint!
